Rainbow in the Word

The Reverend Dr. Ellin Jimmerson is an historian, author and filmmaker whose 2013 documentary, The Second Cooler (narrated by Martin Sheen), centers on immigration and labor rights. Rainbow in the Word, her 2017 book, features a collection of essays by members of the LGBT community on their Christian faith. In 2015 Ellin made headlines by becoming the first Baptist minister to officiate a same-sex wedding, marrying a black lesbian couple in her home state of Alabama.

He studied history (for some reason) at the University of Illinois-Chicago, where his focus was on ethnic relations in the United States.
